At Woodhouse Primary School we seek to nurture an excellent relationship with the parents and carers of every child in the school, who all form part of our ‘Woodhouse Family’. We know that parents want school to be a place where they feel welcomed and where any issues will be promptly and effectively addressed. We aim to provide this environment and value all feedback.
We actively seek to work in partnership and good communication between home and school is essential. General school information is sent via email thorough a system called ParentMail and can be viewed through an App. (We can provide paper options if requested.)
Learning in the Early Years is captured and shared through a system called ‘Tapestry’ which shows photographs and videos. Parents love to see what children have been doing in school and teachers love to see what children have been learning at home.
For children in R to Year 6 we use ‘Class Dojo’. This is where staff can share key information with parents and also allows us to celebrate the great things which go on in school. Older children also share their homework through this system.
Class Dojo also allows parents to easily send messages to their child’s teacher. School staff are also always happy to find time to talk to parents by meeting or phone calls.
We have regular Parents’ Evenings for you to meet your child’s teacher and at the end of each year send a comprehensive report.
