History at Woodhouse Primary School
At Woodhouse Primary School we cover a wide array of historical periods, people and places to give children an understanding of the narrative of both British history and that of the wider world. Children are taught about key dates, events and significant individuals and what role the past has to play in shaping the present and future. History is taught through the National Curriculum. The development of historical skills is fundamental to our children’s learning and they build upon these through our Topic work. Children learn through an enquiry based approach with the ambition of building lifelong and versatile skills such as their analytical abilities and their capacity to weigh evidence to reach a balanced judgement.
