Design and Technology at Woodhouse Primary School

D&T the school is taught to the National Curriculum framework. The children are taught to use creativity and imagination, to design, make and evaluate products intended to solve real and relevant problems, considering practical usage, technological innovation and aesthetics.

They acquire a broad range of subject knowledge with crossover into the areas of mathematics, science, engineering, computing and art. The children learn how to take risks, be resourceful, innovative and enterprising. They are encouraged to evaluate past and present design and technology, to develop a critical understanding of its impact on daily life and the wider world.

Cooking and nutrition are important parts of the school’s Design and Technology curriculum where the children are taught to understand and apply the principles of healthy nutrition and learn how to cook.
