Maths Starter of the Day
Part of Birmingham LEA's Numeracy website. This section gives a starter (short 5 minute activity for teachers to use at the beginning of numeracy lessons) for each day of the year. These activities can just as easily be used by children and their parents at home

National Library of Virtual Manipulatives
Clunky title for a useful site which allows access to maths teaching aids that can be manipulated to aid learning (e.g. various types of graphs).

Online Educational Games List
Massive list of online educational games. Opens in a 'new additions' area. Click the 'curriculum link at the top to be taken to specific subject areas. Great for revision / consolidation.

Paint.NET or Sumo Paint
For those who'd be interested in a top notch and FREE Photoshop alternative, both of these are very good.

Paint.NET - The file size is tiny but the program handles all the usual Photoshop functions. Plug-ins are also available free - extending its scope even further. Ideal for the Year 6 Pop Art topic. Show your support for free software.

Sumo Paint - Pretty much a Photoshop clone that can be downloaded or, and here's the interesting bit, be used online (click on the 'open Sumo Paint' link at the top of the page - Javascript needs to be enabled).

Salford GFL (Developing Maths Files)
Excellent maths activities on printed sheets (focussed on developing concepts rather than rote learning). Each activity has three shhet levels represented by stars (3 stars being the most difficult). There are seperate sets of activities for Years 2-5.

Interactive activities (Mostly science but also history, literacy and others) from the University of Manchester.

A very extensive site with lots of information.
